Hand-crafted in the beautiful harbour village of St Aubin in the island of Jersey, this piece is from the SecretPlaces collection.
This collection is inspired by the tiny hobbit-like structure that looks like a door in a tree in St Catherine, Jersey. It was the basis of many stories for my children when younger and I can imagine Bilbo Baggins hiding behind the weathered red door.
The door actually leads to a gunpowder store that was used when stone was quarried to build St Catherine’s breakwaters in 1849.
Also pictured are two other secret doors, hidden away in St Catherine.
SecretDoor is hand-made in Jersey using gold finish metal with enamel and wax, finished off with a Swarovski® crystal for its door handle. Mounted in a wooden oak finish frame. This one is best seen for its Swarovski® sparkle!
This piece is one of a set of three, sold individually or as a set of three in one frame.
